Meet the Doctor
In the summer of 2011 Dr. Anabel Curiel Franciskato took a teaching position at the Tufts School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Franciskato returned to her alma mater as a Clinical Instructor. After graduating from Tufts in 2004 Dr. Franciskato decided to make it her goal to return one day as an instructor. Her time with Tufts students and Faculty not only allows her to share her experience with the next generations of dentists but also to benefit from the rich talent of the Tufts Faculty and educational resources.
Anabel's family originated from Caracas, Venezuela. Anabel was enrolled at the Central University of Venezuela Medical School (UCV), but left after her first year in 1991 when her family immigrated to the United States of America. Anabel received her BS in Physiology from San Francisco State University (SFSU) in 1996. While attending SFSU she also achieved certification as a dental assistant and a dental lab technologist. Anabel was accepted into the dental program at Tufts University and graduated in 2004.
She participated in a variety of programs while at Tufts such as the Hispanic Dental association, Bridge Over Troubled Waters and gained experience working with disabled patients during an externship at the Fernald Center. In addition she received the HPSC Scholarship Award from the Massachusetts Dental Society. After graduation Dr Franciskato worked as an associate of a private practice before acquiring her office in Beverly, Ma in 2005.
Dr Franciskato is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society and the North Shore Dental Society.
On Her Family:
"Other than dentistry I enjoy family time with my children and traveling to be with relatives. My family is a large part of the practice and I expect as my children grow they will take on more responsibility in the office. Who knows I may raise a future dentist to take over from me?"
"Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful." Albert Schweitzer
On Education:
"Continuing education is a requirement for most professions. I am active with the North Shore Dental Society and a Perio-Prostho club as well as a regular attendant of the Yankee Dental annual convention held in Boston. I believe education is the key to success in everything from health to business."
"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest" Benjamin Franklin
On the practice:
"I am comfortable in a family practice and have never liked crowds. That being said I want my practice to provide quality time with each patient so that we are able to come to an understanding. The patient has to have the time to explain their needs and the doctor needs the time to explain treatment options. I do not like being rushed and would not want my patients to feel they were being treated that way. We have three operatories and the staff consists of a friendly front desk / office manager along with a hygienist and two dental assistants."
"Throughout the time in which I am working on a canvas I can feel how I am beginning to love it, with that love which is born of slow comprehension." Joan Miro
On her Career:
"I love the career I chose because I am given the opportunity to become acquainted with so many people from my town. The longer I am here the more personal I get to know each of my patients. The previous owner of this practice was here 40 years and had such a loyal community to serve. In light of his example I feel I have many years to go."
"In this life we cannot always do great things. But we can do small things with great love" Mother Teresa
"The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence regardless of their chosen field of endeavor" Vince Lombardi
